Central Philippine Adventist College is privileged to be one of the partner institutions of the ’10 Million in 10 Years for a Greener Negros’

Movement founded by the province of Negros Island.

Mrs. Shirley Bangoy, School of Arts, Sciences and Technology (SAST) Dean and Dr. Julie Mirriam Rizardo, College President attended the partner cluster meeting for the provincial project in La Consolacion College, Bacolod City on August 1, 2017 to hear updates regarding the project and to learn how to propagate native seedlings and the importance of its monitoring and evaluation.

The project, called ’10 M in 10,’ aims to plant, grow, and protect 10 million trees in 10 years. As a partner institution, CPAC’s ample farm area will be utilized to plant seedlings, turning it into a ‘mini−forest’ after 10 years.

The project envisions a Negros Island Ecosystem that is environmentally stable and productive and is able to support human development, agriculture and industry. Three goals are also set to mark the achievement of the movement’s vision: ensure a stable and productive watershed, improve and protect the unique biodiversity of Negros Island, and create resilient communities an ecosystems, able to adapt to impacts of climate change.
