CPAC Parades Around Bacolod Featured
A day after CPAC’S birthday, August 13, the college went out of the campus to parade
the main streets of Bacolod city and back to Murcia again for a medical mission.
The day started with a devotional at the main entrance of the campus at 5 o’clock in the morning. After final instructions, the convoy composed of the three school buses, vans and other private vehicles in CPAC left the campus bound for the New Government Center (NGC) in Bacolod city.
By 7 o’clock in the morning, the motorcade had rounded the main streets in the city. From Murcia, it directly went to the New Government Center (NGC) and made a U−turn to Lopues East then passed through Lacson Street and headed to Libertad before finally going out of the city back to Murcia where the next activity would take place.
As part of giving back to her community, CPAC conducted a medical mission offering the following free services: medical and pediatric check−up, minor surgery, dental check−up and tooth extraction and blood sugar monitoring.
The medical mission, organized by Mrs. Roselle Guilaran, the Community Extensions director of the college, was made possible through the partnership with Adventist Medical Center – Bacolod (AMC−B), Murcia Health Unit (MHU), Murcia Local Government Unit and the International College of Surgeons – Negros Occidental Chapter.
Conducting the medical and pediatric check−ups and the minor surgery were doctors and post−graduate interns (PGIs) from AMC−B.
Drs. Lynne Mabida and Jacqueline Arcenal conducted the dental check−up and tooth extraction.
Alumni of the School of Nursing (SON) and Level III and IV Nursing students also lend a hand in the different medical services offered.
